About the Journal

Dibon Journal of Languages (DJL) (ISSN: 2978-0594) is an open-access, peer-reviewed international journal published by Dibon Publishing House in the UK. The journal is dedicated to advancing theoretical understanding, empirical research, and practical applications in language-related disciplines. DJL serves as a platform for scholars, researchers, and educators working across a broad spectrum of fields, including theoretical and applied linguistics, literature, digital discourse, translation studies, computer-assisted language learning (CALL), and computational linguistics.

We prioritize original research that addresses contemporary linguistic challenges and fosters innovative methodologies. Our scope spans traditional structural linguistics, sociolinguistics, and corpus linguistics, alongside emerging areas such as natural language processing (NLP), text-encoding technologies, and digital communication paradigms.

Aims

DJL aims to advance knowledge and evidence-informed practice in language studies by publishing methodologically sound research that speaks to scholars, linguists, and literary critics. The journal seeks to foster meaningful dialogue between researchers, applied linguists, and digital humanities practitioners within the international language studies community, and to make that scholarship freely and permanently available to readers worldwide.

Scope

The journal welcomes submissions across the following areas: theoretical and descriptive linguistics (including phonology, syntax, and semantics); applied linguistics and language pedagogy (including EFL/ESL and computer-assisted language learning); computational linguistics and natural language processing (NLP); corpus linguistics and text-encoding technologies; digital discourse and internet linguistics; translation and cross-cultural studies; and literary analysis, genre studies, and contemporary literature. We publish rigorous research employing quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, and computational approaches.

What We Publish

DJL considers the following article types:

  • Original empirical or computational research articles
  • Systematic and integrative literature reviews / Meta-analyses
  • System/Tool demonstrations and short papers
  • Conceptual and theoretical papers
  • Book reviews (by invitation or proposal)

Peer Review

The journal follows a double-blind peer review process in which each manuscript is assessed by at least two independent reviewers. Full details are available on our Peer Review Policy page.

Open Access and Licensing

DJL is a fully open-access journal. All articles are freely available immediately upon publication under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, and authors retain full copyright of their work. Indexing and Abstracting

DJL is indexed and abstracted in Google Scholar, the British Library, the ISSN Portal (ISSN UK), the PKP Index, Ulrich's Periodicals Directory, and Crossref. The journal is actively pursuing inclusion in additional databases, including DOAJ, Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts (LLBA) or MLA International Bibliography, Scopus, and Web of Science.

Publication Frequency

DJL publishes 4 issues per year (March, June, September, and December). Authors may submit their manuscripts at any time throughout the calendar year.
